Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 20 August 2026

SerialSeal is committed to making serialseal.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, screen magnification, or with motion and contrast preferences set in their operating system.

Conformance status

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This site is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which means most of the standard is met and the known exceptions are listed below.

What we have tested

Our most recent review, completed on 20 August 2026, covered the home page, the seal builder, the cart, the contact form, the FAQ and the My Seals account pages. It combined automated testing (axe-core 4.10) with manual testing that automated tools cannot perform, including:

  • completing a full purchase using only a keyboard, with no mouse;
  • checking that every control shows a visible focus indicator;
  • checking that content reflows without horizontal scrolling at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom;
  • checking that moving content can be stopped, and that nothing depends on a dragging movement alone;
  • checking colour contrast against the 4.5:1 minimum for normal text.

Accessibility features on this site

  • Keyboard — the whole site, including designing and buying seals, can be operated from the keyboard. A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
  • Motion — the rotating seal preview on the builder has a Pause button, stops as soon as you start using the page, and does not animate at all if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • No drag-only controls — anything you can drag (positioning your artwork, the priority-production control) can also be done with buttons, taps or the arrow keys.
  • Zoom and reflow — the site works at 200% zoom and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
  • Screen readers — form fields have labels, dialogs move focus and close with Escape, and the seal preview carries a text description of the design, shape and serial number.

Known limitations

  • One navigation component supplied by our e-commerce platform (Shopify) reports a markup issue in automated testing. It is part of the platform rather than our own code, we cannot change it directly, and we have reported it. It does not prevent keyboard or screen-reader use of the site.
  • Checkout is hosted and controlled by Shopify. We do not control its code. Shopify publishes its own accessibility information.
  • Third-party content such as payment buttons may not fully meet the same standard.
